A rural prairie road in Dugald, Manitoba.
I’m keeping it short and sweet today as yesterday was a bit of a doozy! Friday’s Favourite today is a photo from summer of 2009 during a road trip that Will and I took from British Columbia to my childhood home of Manitoba. It was amazing to finally take Will to the place where I spent the first 12 years of my life. This image is of the road where my closest childhood friend Cheryl grew up. She’s married now, with two delightful little boys, and lives only just down the road. Cheryl and I as well as our friend Sheena swapped hanging out in all of our rural backyards which backed onto creeks, and woods, and fields. It was pretty idillic as a kid. And magical to come back to and remember all the fun. It’s the type of fun I’d like my kids to have one day…just with a few more hills and mountains to climb ;-)
Sigh…I love the great outdoors!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Before I even read the caption for this photo, my first thought was that this was the road to Cheryl’s place. It’s funny how something as simple as a gravel road can so easily be recognized and bring up a thousand great memories.
Crazy that this is now my life again!! Well…not quite I guess, I like being a bit further north in the Canadian Shield! Great photo:)
Sheena! Good to hear from you!!! I didn’t know you hung out ;-) So many great memories from our childhood hey? Will we get a reunion in Jamaica for Brooke + Andrew’s wedding? We’d get to meet each other’s husbands! So excited not just for the opportunity to shoot another destination wedding, but to possibly see some old friends!
