A Return to Film | A Vintage-Inspired Shoot in Livermore

This year has been about returning to film for me.  Not just here and there, or for personal work, but in a big way.  I’m just ready for it, loving it, and dying to share it.  That being said, I haven’t posted much as of late because I’m submitting a good deal of my work this spring to the wedding and industry blogs for publication.  In order to stand a chance at being published on the more prominent blogs, exclusivity is required, therefore I haven’t offered my images for public viewing, except for a few sneak peeks on my Instagram and Facebook pages.  I do, however, have a shoot done with a friend a while back that I’m sharing today.  I wanted to see how my favourite film, Fuji 400H, handled bright, mid-day sunlight.  And ohhh how it handled it!  Where digital would blow out the highlights and look harsh and contrasty at this time of day, film rendered all the images a little softer, and much prettier, leaving me happy, happy, happy.  So here’s a vintage-inspired shoot featuring my friend (and fashionista) Yanez, shot in the hills of Livermore.

Stay tuned for more film and more lovely images over the coming months.  I promise I’ll share more!  And don’t forget, there are updates every week on my Facebook and Instgram feeds, so Like, Follow, do whatever you do!

PS Yanez’s fab vintage chapeau was found at the Livermore Paris Flea Market which is held the first weekend of every month.  It’s on June 5-8 so if you’re in the East Bay area I HIGHLY recommend checking it out.  We have come across so many awesome vintage and old world-feel finds including Yanez’s hat!
